St’PATTYs Swell

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

It was quite a week of swell with all types of surf and weather conditions. It all started that Sunday with hard cold NE winds, BIG SURF and tons of rain. Monday started off with the York shop basement flooding with cold heavy rains for most of the day, the winds were still ENE. After bailing out the basement the York/OGT crew still got wet at one of those secret spots up Maine. Tuesday thru Friday was a New England Surfers dream come true with offshore winds, great waves and HOT air temps. It really felt like spring/summer last week with the sounds of motorcyles on the roads, people in shorts and longer days. I hope you all got to enjoy that preview of what’s coming just around the corner.. M

There was some great waves this past Thursday and Friday here in Maine. It was a much needed swell after a mid winter flat spell. I love surfing in the winter with all the boys. Back in the day of old heavy and non flexible wetsuits it used to be a survival game. But now with todays warm and super flexible wetsuits surfers are pushing each other and surfing is at a all time level here in the NorthEast.. Here’s a few Pics from Andrew Frost and Nick LaVecchia, and a GO Pro sess from the other day..Broad ViewDSC_2198Nico 2Mark1CyNico1Rich2_MG_1656_MG_1672_MG_1706
